Shrubs! In Your Garden... |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
There
are so many good shrubs that merit a mention, where should we
begin? We usually have over 15 varieties of Viburnum, including V. Carlesii, V.Judii, V.Burkwoodii, V. Pragense, and the non-scented, but very beautiful V.Mariesii. When it comes to scent, its hard to top the beautiful dwarf evergreen Daphne retusa (syn. tangutica) which produces its white flowers from late spring into summer. Youll probably also find 5 varieties of dwarf lilacs and other old favourites such as Hydrangea arborescens Annabelle, Hydrangea villosa and the brick-red lace-cap Hydrangea Geoffrey Chadbund the only good red lace-cap in cultivation. Other favourites that often prove difficult to find, such as Garrya ellipta James Roof, are plants that we strive to keep in stock as much as possible. While if its rarities youre looking for, then how about these for a start: Melaleuca squamea the Honey Myrtle from Down Under, Drymis colorata Mt. Congreve and the lovely Drymis aromatica, Osmanthus Gulftide, Eucalyptus nicholii, Eucalyptus debeuzevillei, Mitraria coccinea, Nellia thibetica and Tree Peonies Paeonia suffruticosa in 5 varieties. |
