||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Over the past few
years the interest in perennials has grown at a phenomenal rate
and the range of new and interesting plants has grown accordingly. Some of the our most requested and sought after plants are perennials: Digitalis Sutton's Apricot which is, as the name suggests, a lovely apricot coloured foxglove, has been very popular for the last couple of years. Verbascums are in at the moment. Some of the most popular varieties include V. Jackie and V. Helen Johnson. Alstroemerias too are in demand because of their continuous flowering from May 'til November. Popular varieties lately are A. Apollo, A. Evening Song, A. Selina and the much sought after A. Orange Glory. Recent introductions of real merit include the poppy Papaver Pattys Plum, which was a chance discovery on a compost heap! The flower colour is a mixture of pale grey and deep plum. Oenothera Siskiyou from the USA is an enormously popular plant at present with pink flowers from spring through to autumn. Lovers of Dicentra or Bleeding Heart will be more than excited with the prospect on getting their hands on the D. Goldheart ,a new variety, which carries its spring blooms among golden yellow leaves. To give you a flavour of the huge range of perennials on offer; we stock over 15 varieties of hardy geraniums, 8 varieties of helleborus including H. x sternii, more than 12 varieties of campanula, 8 varieties of poppies and an abundance of hostas, delphiniums, day lilies, anemones, asters and paeonies. |
