Hennessy's Garden Centres operates from 2 locations
in the South-East - Our largest garden centre, 6 miles
from Kilkenny, has been open
for business since April 1991.
A sister site opened in Rosslare
in spring 2000.
We are family owned, and run, independent garden centres.
We are customer oriented and price conscious, driven
by ambition.
We are innovative, at the forefront of the garden centre
industry in Ireland.

We have a huge covered sales
area... over 30,000 ft² in fact and a large
outdoor plant area full of fresh, colourful stock
and planted display beds. Our entire Garden Centre
is paved and is fully wheelchair (and child buggy)
accessible. Our large (over 140 cars) asphalt
car park means that access isn’t a problem either,
also disabled parking directly outside the front
door. |
We always try to
offer an unrivalled experience to our customers,
both in terms of selection and value. Our staff
(over 20 full-time employees) is always available
to assist you if you require help or advice.
When it comes to garden retail, size
matters! We buy products by the container
load, which means that our customers get a huge
selection and a great price. We have a network
of suppliers all over Europe and beyond which
allows us to pass on the best deals to our customers
-- Ireland, England, France, Germany, Sweden,
Italy, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, USA, Canada,
Malaysia, Vietnam, China, New Zealand, etc.
We also produce a lot of our plant stock in
our own purpose built nursery. The nursery was
moved off site in 1999 – both it and the garden
centre needed to expand. At the centre of this
development is our huge greenhouse, almost 2
Acres (about 4,000 times the volume of a
typical 8' x 6' home greenhouse!). Two
automatic plant potting machine lines are installed
in the potting shed - these help to spread the
huge workload in Spring & Autumn and allow
us to programme potting times more effectively
so we can have plants in prime condition at
all times.

- Tropical fish, ponds, goldfish, koi, aquariums,

Botanics Restaurant

Our restaurant, Botanics
is the latest addition to the Garden Centre Experience.
120 seats in a beautiful conservatory style building,
a mix of bright contemporary styling and traditional
materials – like Western Red Cedar panels, slate
floor tiles and Pine Trusses. Lots of glass too
so you can kick back and admire the view.
It's a great place to bring the family and good
value too! |
And for those days
when the weather is just fine, you can take it
outside onto the large deck. The Restaurant is
open 7 days doing full dinners, desserts, tea,
coffee, cappuccino, espresso and now you can also
enjoy a glass of wine with your food. |

Well you'll find us just five
minutes
from the International Ferryport and the popular
seaside resort at Rosslare.
We pride ourselves on our range of plants and
other garden related products, and our friendly
service which we hope you will find second to
none.
At Hennessy's Rosslare, you will find all the
garden accessories you would expect from a top
class Garden Centre plus a very comprehensive
furniture and barbecue area, a Christmas department
in winter which has
received rave reviews, and an interesting range
of houseplants. |
Because of our lovely
mild climate we can grow not only all of the usual
garden favourites, but also a whole range of unusual
plants such as Lamprantus (in six colours), Boronia,
Diosma, Melaeluca, Agaves, Melianthus and the
wonderful Echiums native to the Canary Islands.
We even have a six foot tall Xanthorrea or Grass
Tree growing in the Garden Centre.
Of course because we are almost surrounded by
the sea we specialise in
plants that grow by the sea including unusual
varieties of Eucalyptus,
Olearia, Pittosporum, Callistemon, Hydrangea,
Azara and lots, lots more
besides.
If that's not enough, when you're at Hennessy's
Rosslare, you are within striking distance of
the Viking town of Wexford, Johnstown Castle and
Gardens, The Irish National Heritage Park, Wexford
Wildfowl Reserve, Yola Farmstead Folk Park not
to mention Rosslare Strand, Carnsore Point, Carne
Beach, Lady's Island, lovely Kilmore Quay and
two of Irelands treasures: The Saltee Islands
and the Hook Peninsula.
We've got ample parking, a free delivery service,
free gift wrapping, lots to keep the kids occupied
and the best climate in Ireland to do it all in.
