September in your garden...
A time for Harvest and for Autumn Colour.The perfect time for planting new trees, shrubs etc.
Plant out spring-flowering bulbs.
Plant out Winter and Spring bedding in containers etc.
Plant onion sets now.
Buy Prepared Hyacinths for Christmas forcing.
Move evergreen shrubs.
Lift tender plants and bring them under cover.
Sow new Lawns now.
Enjoy the Autumn colour and those fresh mornings.

Fruit
Harvesting: Lots of fruit varieties are ripening now.
Pears: Early pears can be picked now and let ripen indoors.
Storing: Only attempt to store quality fruit - anything showing signs of damage should be used immediately.
Soft Fruit: Late raspberries and blackberries should still be producing beautiful fruit at this stage.
Care: Some of the soft fruit canes and bushes will need to be pruned now.
